2017 In Review
I cannot complain! 2017 was such a blessed year for my family! It was a year of settling into our new beginning. As most of you know, we moved back East mid-2016 and God told us that new beginnings were in store. We were so excited! In 2017 I was able to fulfill a lifelong passion of writing, by publishing 6 books (2 of which are in English and Spanish). God had told me to publish a couple of books back in 2008. Wow, the journey has been long and it's not over by a long shot, I've only just begun as an author and I am so excited to dive into 2018 and continue to write! God has many things prepared for my family in 2018 and we are eager to obey and do His will.

Coming Into My Own...
Ten years ago, or so, I was listening to a Pastor preach on our role as women and why God created us, based on Proverbs 31. Then and there God began to speak to me about what He wanted from me, and that meant to leave my teaching career and stay at home to raise my family and to enter into full time ministry with my husband. That was met with harsh criticism during the entire 10 years after, from many, many people in my life and those I met along the way; along with so much guilt from my heart for making a decision that meant sacrificing things because our income would change drastically.Yet, I obeyed and our family went through the changes and the struggles.
Yes, we have endured things you couldn't imagine, many things that we have kept to ourselves, but that's not the point of this blog. The point is that because I listened to what God told me back then, I can fully see and understand His plan now. I have done many things during those years working from home, trying to find my purpose. We have gone through a lot in the ministry as well. I can tell you with my hand on my heart that I 100% do not regret obeying His voice back then, and that everything we have experienced since then has only been learning experiences we can look back on now, knowing we are wiser and more knowledgeable. I can look at my daughters and feel satisfied that although they aren't perfect, I know they are being and doing the best they can be and do, and I rest in knowing that they are secure in knowing that I will ALWAYS be there for them, in everything they do.
This is not an apologetic rant, it's just a grateful post from a woman, wife, mother, professional, child of God who has finally come into her own, not by her own strength but by God's grace and mercy. So, here's to you, fellow 'work from home mom', for being obedient to what God has asked of you and your family, I celebrate you! Know you are not alone!
The Wife of Noble Character
10 [b]A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
