Portion of Mercy

Originally written and published in Spanish on September 27, 2012

I want to share with you all about a topic that is very important. God's Mercy. We are all familiar with the Scripture: Lamentations 3:21-23:  "But this I recall and therefore have I hope and expectation: It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.
We know that God's mercies are new, but, do we really understand what that means? The simple fact that God gives us new mercies each morning should be enough for us to take on each day with joy, determination and perseverance, knowing we will achieve what we have set out to do in our hearts. Why? Because His Mercies are new each morning!!  Because whatever happened yesterday is in the past and it should not affect me. Today is a new day, a new morning and I should be completely sure that today my Father is with me, His favor and blessing and mercies are with me!!

"Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.." - Psalms 23:6
This promise should be engrained in our hearts each morning when we wake up, and each night before we sleep!! His mercies are new each morning and they follow me. I don't look for them, they follow me! That's how good and generous and loving our Father is. His mercies, His favor, His goodness is for me and He gives then to me EACH DAY. I don't have to work or fight for them, I don't have to wonder if I behaved good or bad, ha, His mercies are mine, and they are new each morning and He sends them to me! Now that deserves a shout of Praise! Hallelujah!!!

Have you ever wondered why there are days when we wake up upset or angry or cranky? Why is it that sometimes after sleeping the entire night, I wake up sad, depressed, worries or cranky? I heard a pastor once say that this happens because the enemy knows that God's mercies are new each morning and because he knows, he wants you to wake up upset, depressed, angry so that you won't come before God's presence to receive those mercies and blessings, that favor, all that goodness that He has for you. It was like a light bulb went on when I heard that!  Yes, it's true! The devil's intention is to destroy you, make you lose focus, trick you, and he knows that when we wake up, the first thing we should do is come before the Lord, give Him honor and glory and acknowledge His mercies and favor... and He is there, waiting for us to come and receive with open arms what He has for us. So, the devil begins to bring thoughts into our minds early in the morning to distract us from those mercies that are new for us each morning. We cannot allow the enemy to come and steal our mercies and blessings. Our Father is faithful and loving, He awaits for us with open arms, with blessings, favor, goodness and mercies each new morning. We should wake up to give Him glory and thank Him for a new day. We need to get used to when we open our eyes, we need not think of anything else, don't think of the time, the things we need to do, just think of your Father, hugging you and giving you His mercy and favor, his blessing and goodness to start your day with joy and do everything you do in joy. Just hear Him say, "Good morning my son, daughter, here is my gift to you, it's new mercies that are yours each day, favor and blessings and goodness for you to rejoice in all you do..." I know that if we get used to saying Good Morning to our Father, and if we come in gratitude and gratefulness into His presence and receive what He has for us, our days will be better, we will conquer, we will fight and overcome and win!  What else do we need? He said we are more than conquerors through Jesus, if we have Him on our side, who cares who is against us!?!?

I declare that each morning as you wake, you get up with new strength and with your spirit full of thankfulness to receive His Mercies, which are new! I declare that as you begin your day with thanksgiving, giving your Father a smile, talking to Him before going about your day and receiving all He has for you, you will see His glory and His presence in your life and in your daily walk! Don't let anyone or anything steal your mercies! They are yours, He has given them to you each morning!  Take them and go conquer!!

It is my prayer that this reflection be a part of your daily portion.

Love & Blessings,
Michelle

Portion of Perseverance

Originally written and published in Spanish on April 10, 2012

In front of my house, there's a tree. On this tree and in front of my house there are always birds flying and walking around and resting around the area. Each morning, I can hear the birds chirping and singing. There are always a few birds there and each bird sings differently. As I pray each morning, I can hear them singing. Today, as I prayed, my spirit began to rest in Christ, in His work on the cross, on His blood that was poured out... And, as I rested in Him, the sound of the birds singing filled my room and I could see the nurturing, tender aspect of God's nature, and I could see how He takes care of His Creation.

It really is interesting to see how those birds are always in that tree in front of my house, during the entire year. Winter passes, the tree has no leaves, it is covered in snow and even then the birds are there. Spring arrives, the tree has grown its leaves, so full that we cannot see much outside the window due to the fullness of the tree. And, there are the birds, they remain singing and flying around.

How difficult it is for us sometimes to rest during a "winter" situation, where it seems like there is no fruit or bloom, everything has died, it is cold and at times lonely; where it quickly grows dark and there are even days where the sun does not appear.  Did you know that even in the middle of winter, the birds still sing? Even in the midst of coldness and darkness, the bird is still in its tree... Maybe you will say that he remains there because he has no where to go; or because he doesn't know any better.  And, yes, that may be a reason. But, I believe that it goes beyond that. I believe that the bird continues to sing and remains in his tree, because he knows that Winter will pass and that soon Spring will be here. Sometimes it's much easier for us to stop fighting when the winter situation comes along, and we tend to hide, hibernate, forgetting where we stand.... but if we let winter come and take our place, we lose all we have been fighting for, and then when spring comes, when the fruit starts to grow, we won't see a harvest because we stopped fighting...

I am not sure if you understand me, but I want to tell you today to not stop fighting, nor get out of your place. You have stood in your place and have lasted there for a long time, you've taken your position and there have been situations and attacks in your life that have wanted to knock you down.  I tell you now, persevere!  Don't give up!  You are so close to your Spring, your fruit will begin to blossom and grow! Maintain your position and stance and sing like the bird. Worship God, praise Him, shout with victory and declare and decree that your season is here. Rejoice in Spring and show your fruit for the Kingdom! You are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus! Persevere, remain, fight, and remember that the Victory is yours!

In the midst of it all, rest in Christ, He paid it all for you and for me. Come before His presence and rest in Him, find the Peace that only He can give and next time you hear a bird sining, give thanks to God because if He takes care of the birds, He will certainly take care of you and your family and your needs....

Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified); To the end that through [their receiving] Christ Jesus, the blessing [promised] to Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, so that we through faith might [all] receive [the realization of] the promise of the [Holy] Spirit. - Galatians 3:13-14

Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? - Matthew 6:26

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ase and relieve and refresh your souls.] - Matthew 11:28

As you have therefore received Christ, [even] Jesus the Lord, [so] walk (regulate your lives and conduct yourselves) in union with and conformity to Him. Have the roots [of your being] firmly and deeply planted [in Him, fixed and founded in Him], being continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and abounding and overflowing in it with thanksgiving.

It is my prayer that this reflection be a part of your daily portion.

Love & Blessings,
Michelle

The Conquest!

A Daily Portion

I wanted to share some encouraging Scriptures and thoughts on the conquest and about us being conquerors. I feel we need to be motivated and encouraged to see past our current situation or the season we are living in, and realize that we are in constant pursuit of conquering our territory for the Kingdom. We cannot, we must not lose sight that we were created for a purpose and that purpose is to live our lives in worship to our King, and establish His Kingdom here on Earth. We have a mission, we are on a conquest and we ARE more than conquerors in Him! As you go throughout your day, may this be part of your daily portion, may these Scriptures lift you up, as you know you're not alone in your conquest; there are many of us on the same path and victory and triumph is ours!!

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]  -John 16:33 [AMP]

Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.  -Romans 8:37 [AMP]

But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.  -1 Corinthians 15:57

For the [true] love of God is this: that we do His commands [keep His ordinances and are mindful of His precepts and teaching]. And these orders of His are not irksome (burdensome, oppressive, or grievous). For whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; and this is the victory that conquers the world, even our faith. Who is it that is victorious over [that conquers] the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on that fact]?
-1 John 5:3-5   [AMP]

The conquest begins in the mind, then in the heart, until it becomes an action; intense pursuit and passion propel you to conquer!  Is your pursuit full of passion and conviction? Don't give up, you can conquer as long as your intense pursuit and passion are alive!

It is my prayer that this reflection be a part of your daily portion.

Love & Blessings,
Michelle

Portion of Triumph

A Daily Portion

But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.  -Psalms 3:3

These past couple of weeks I have been reading a book by Joyce Meyer that talks about the mind being a battlefield, and how we should take control of our thoughts because the devil always wants to attack our mind with negative thoughts. I'm sure many of you have heard about the book and maybe even some have read it.  It's very good, she shares her experience in a simple and real way. There are so many treasures in that book, but I have felt the need, for the last few days, to write about having positive thoughts and not letting the devil attack us with negativity.

Psalms 3:3 says that God is our glory, and He lifts our head high! It's wonderful to know that God surrounds us! We can live in peace, knowing that God surrounds like like a shield. He lifts our head high! I like that version, because that's how we should always see it. He lifts our head high! Why? What does that have to do with negativity? Plenty! When we get depressed,  the word says it all de-pressed; press down, sink down... When negative thoughts come into our mind, suddenly the first thing that happens is that we lower our head, our face saddens and our body sinks down. And it's all because the negative thoughts are depressing us, and we know who wants to bring us down, the devil! But God never said we should allow that to happen. On the contrary, He said: And the Lord shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath ... [Deut. 28:13] If it were not important, God would not mention it so much!

Lifting up the head, being above and not beneath, this is how God created us, how He made us to be. But what has happened is that the devil, trying to steal our identity, he always wants to confuse us, lie to us and depress us, so we don't have the will or want to live a victorious, triumphant life. The act of lifting the head means that we are secure, we are confident and we know who we are and where we are going. And the best part is that God is the One who lifts our head!! In the midst of the attack with depression, it is God who comes to lift our head, it is God who puts us above and not beneath and He has always done so! He not only lifts our head, but he lifts our mood, our heart, our hope, our attitude... Our strength comes from Him. He is our glory, He lifts us up!

We will always have those negative thought attacks. We will always have certain situations come into our lives, the ones that want to depress us and put us down, but we have to overcome them and confess with our mouth and our heart Psalm 3:3 and declare that it is God who lifts my head! In the middle of affliction and opression, He lifts my head! In the middle of sickness or crisis, He lifts my head. To be able to know and understand the strategies of the enemy, and to know that he is always looking for ways to destroy us is necessary in this battle, because if we are always alert to his strategies, we won't let the "downs" take control of us. When those "downs" come to your life, lift up your head and shout that God is your shield, He is your glory and the lifter of your head!!

I declare over your life victory and triumph! I declare that you rise up like never before and that you conquer those territories that seemed impossible before. I declare that your mind and your thoughts are full of peace and trust in Christ! Rise up, go and conquer, triumph is yours!

It is my prayer that this reflection be a part of your daily portion.

Love & Blessings,
Michelle
